Terms of Use

The terms.
Read them.

Kaleshwara Ltd is a personal-growth company. Bhairava exists to help you regain control of your attention and build a greater sense of well-being and freedom. The commitment is deliberately firm — but its purpose is always your growth, not your loss.

Bhairava puts real money behind your screen-time limit. That only works if the rules are clear before you stake anything. By using Bhairava you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The core of it: your deposit is a commitment stake you choose, secured by an authorisation hold on your card. Stay within your limit and the hold is released — you are never charged. Break your limit and fail to lock back in, and the stake is captured and not refunded. That is the entire point of the app, and it is not a mistake when it happens.

01Who can use Bhairava

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. Bhairava is not available to anyone under 18, with no exceptions. You must use a valid payment method that belongs to you. Bhairava will be offered on iOS and Android.

When you create your account we ask for your date of birth. By continuing you represent that it is true. We check it on your device and keep only the fact that you confirmed you are 18 or over, and when — not the date itself. Where your app store can tell us whether you are an adult, we may rely on that instead of asking.

If you are under 18 and use Bhairava anyway, we will not keep your money. On discovering it we will close the account and release any hold rather than capture it, including a hold already captured, and we may decline to serve you in future. This is not generosity — a contract of this kind is not enforceable against a minor, and we would rather say so here than argue it later.

02How a session works

You set a screen-time limit and a deposit amount, and you confirm you understand the consequence. Bhairava uses Apple's Screen Time framework to monitor usage and to shield the apps you choose (or all permitted apps). System-essential functions — calls, messages, alarms, emergency SOS — are never blocked.

Enforcement runs on Apple's Screen Time framework and inherits its limits. iOS exempts certain apps from blocking: system-essential apps, which cannot be locked by anyone, and any app you have added to your own Always Allowed list in your device Settings. Bhairava detects a user-added Always Allowed app the first time it is used during a lockdown and locks it within seconds, permanently, on that device. A brief opening of that kind is not a failure of enforcement, and it does not release, refund or reduce a held or captured stake. The deposit is the commitment, not the lock screen.

03Deposits, holds and your commitment stake

The deposit is best understood as an agreed commitment stake you set yourself, transparent and shown to you in plain English before you commit. It is not a penalty or a fine; it is the mechanism that makes the commitment real.

04Escaping a session

The deposit, not the lock screen, is the real commitment. Because of that:

05Hardcore mode

Hardcore is an optional, fiercer mode behind a subscription billed through Apple. The subscription is managed in your Apple account and is governed by Apple's terms; it is separate from your deposit. A Hardcore run locks every permitted app for a continuous period of days with a single grace window for the whole run. Cancelling the subscription does not end an active run — a run already underway plays out on its existing hold; you simply cannot start new runs.

The subscription is auto-renewing: payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation, and it renews automatically at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The price, the billing period and any introductory offer are those shown on the purchase screen and in your Apple Account, in your own currency — Apple sets them per storefront, so they differ by country. Manage or cancel it anytime in your Apple Account settings.

06No guarantee of outcome

Bhairava is a tool to help you keep your own commitment. We do not guarantee it will reduce your screen time, and we are not responsible for what you choose to stake or lose. Screen Time is provided by Apple and may behave imperfectly; we apply your rules in good faith but cannot promise the underlying platform is flawless.

07Beta

Bhairava is in active development. Features may change, break or be withdrawn. We will not knowingly capture a deposit because of a fault that is ours — if a capture is caused by a genuine Bhairava error, contact us and we will put it right.

08Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Bhairava's total liability to you is limited to the amount of the deposit in question. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

09Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in the app or by email, and the date above will change. Questions go to info@bhairava.app. See also our Privacy Policy.
